No OEM. It also has that blue wallpaper that only came with the real versions (no the RC/beta's). So I think I'm safe.

Also put some OC on that 6600, I got mine to 3,1 easily without even playing around with the Volts.
That entirely depends on what version of the 6600 he has.
The latest version should be fine, but the first production batch is a no no for OC'ing.

Your RAM or your Motherboard is crapped, Tazz, need to do something about that.
Completely missed your post

I have the 2nd gen, and i've just OC'd it to 3.2 stable without voltage changes.

To all the naysayers that said my $15 Win7 Upgrade disc was a waste of time, and you can't do a clean install:

I had mine to 3.2 the other day too, running stable with prime but crapped out multiple
times with BSOD on Operation Flaspoint DR. I wil try to up the volts a bit today a see if it does any better.

^ good find, thanks.

For people with creative sound cards... just wondering if you have experienced any problems with the Windows 7 drivers?

None at all, I was worried about this myself with my X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty but everything sound-wise runs great except Unreal 1 which I installed just for shits and giggles.  Anything that echoes crackles in Unreal 1 but ffs it's a 1998 game so who's expecting it to work great forever.  For all I know there's probably some kind of fix for it anyway.  Haven't tried Half-Life 1 yet though now that I think about it.

If anything, I think 7 actually improved the sound quality across the board.  Music and games just sound more alive than they did on XP for some reason.

Battlefield 2142 sounds fine on Ultra High quality and doesn't have any crackling at all.  I set 2142 administrative mode before I ever started it and it never had any issues, not even with PunkBuster.

And Mirror's Edge is somehow still able to do hardware sound rendering according to the menu.  I thought that ability had been removed from Windows since Vista.

i installed 7 into a 500gig drive, and i couldn't tell you - it was a data drive, and after the install all the data was still there.

first time i'd seen that from a windows install . . .
