Yeah we all hear it when we first buy a game, and we get trashed, we read and read, but it's like a job --different once you're in the firehouse.  Anyway, and yes I am the n00b, newbie, FNG or whatever, but I have noticed through some of the players ranked up there in stats, most of them are really good in aircraft or armor no matter what class.  I have read up on the Blackhawks/Tanks, me not wanting to be a tank/helo whore, until I get better of course, I also have practiced in single player, but decided to dive right in multi-player.

Anyway the Question:

I have a problem with guidance/lead times-- I either place it to far in front or underneath or above or behind chasing the tank/helo, seems also to take me 3 hits to take down a tank, maybe they had an eng or something inside, I was firing a blackhawk in AT and hit it 3 times am I hitting this in the wrong place(the belly straight down)? Would you fire just a tad above/front? I tried different ways and seems to do be either a great flyer or too much about a index finger width or lesser. Or maybe just tell me to leave the AT to someone else.

Your question is answered elsewhere on these forums, as well as all major BF2 related websites, along with information which can be found at the popular GAMEFAQS.COM web site.

Aim for the ass of the tank and you cant go wrong. It's that simple.

With Helicopters, the best place to hit is the engine, (back or beneath main rotor,) or the tail. Hard to do when using heatseekers of course, but useful if taking out choppers with Anti-tank guns.
Or Sniper rifles. Did that once. Beautiful fluke.

I know that I will probably be flamed about what I am about to say but, I have yet to see a better TV missle man than I. So much so, I fly alone piloting and gunning myself. I know what spawns and also when they spawn. My timing is the key. I cant sit there and tell a gunner SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT! You get my point I hope.

Guiding the TV 101:
PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PATIENT! PATIENT!

1st rule: NEVER take a bad shot (BE PATIENT.) If you are to close save the shot, or wait till your pilot gets his head outta his a$$ and lines you up for a better shot. If you are learning and not mastered the art then dont take stupid shots
(Helo nose diving towards you. Angle is to great. Even I know the odds of hitting a target doing rolls, nose diving ect.)
2nd rule: If your enemy slick is moving right to left or left to right DONT aim right at the chopper. LEAD HIM! LEading is the art of guiding. A missle will fire up to 600 meters after that it will self detonate. How far away is the chopper? Lead him more or less depending on the distance from you.
3rd rule: If it is a long shot click fire and let the missle go for a bit and straiten out. VISUALIZE the line and watch your target. If a helo is going from left to right keep clicking out in front of him (THe art is not hitting the target but rather your target running into the missle) Now, keep leading the target (you should not be clicking on the chopper AT ALL!) now the close the missle comes to the target click the missle less and less of a lead untill the missle is right on the target. At impact you should have last clicked on his nose tip.

Ok I am actaully not done yet but I have to go drinking now... PLEASE ask me questions if I was not clear.

Thanks

To quickly take out a blackhawk, get a tank and aim at the cockpit or the back of the hawk(the opening)u will most likely kill the pilots and maybe the gunners. If another passanger quickly takes over the pilots seat, simply repeat if they dont, just shoot anywhere. Easy way to kill 6 people.

LOL or just shoot the damm thing and hide before it kills you!
Just practice! nothing you read will really teach you much! you already know you have to lead, its just how much! and well the more you do it the better you will get!

[TvC]UnBe@table, thank you for the advise. I have tangled with you in a server and you were an asshole, but I have to say you are one hell of a pilot.(Much Respect).
I know after calling you an asshole, I dont expect much help, but could you post a video of you flying?...I would like to know how you accomplish the things you do.

LOL, snipers still suprise people in the attack choppers.  Just yesterday the carrier on Wake was being attacked by the Z-10, just shot out the pilot(who was a clan member I was playing with) and it was kinda funny to see the chopper hit the side of the carrier.

Hehe, I did something like that on Wake yesterday. I was hiding in the little shack between the airfield and the Beach as USMC. I claymored up the opening with some help from a support guy I'd killed, then just sat inside taking my pick of targets. The Mi-28 spawned, so I watched folks jump in, I'd shoot out the pilot, wait for the next in line, do the same. Went through 6 kills like that beforeI had to reload, and they finally got off the ground. That was a fun round.
