so do you guys think it's just a meagre trend in newer games that's killing my/your/our enthusiasm, or the big bothersome IRL taking over? seeing as a large core of this bf2s community are all of the same generation, more or less, it's interesting to see the pattern of gameplay. even a year ago there was a considerable difference in activity in the game-discussions and general community gameplay. now this place seems more like a convenient board to come and shoot the breeze and kill some time. im really on a mega nostalgia binge. i miss the (rose-tinted) feeling of coming home from school and really wanting to chill and hop on vent/ts with my fps-team, or to log on to warcraft and relax for a few hours. weep.

I stopped playing because all my (IRL) friends did. At least, they moved on to WoW and I didn't want to play WoW. Well, some still play occasionally - but meh.
that's what i mean about everyone really rushing to grow up and become adult. i feel like i want to shirk that burden for as long as possible!
all my mates stopped playing games, so i did too. only a close-knit bunch of (home) friends still ride/skate/roll, so i barely ever get chance to get out for a good session or roadtrip anymore. im bored of being mature and responsible, it feels borderline ridiculous, haha.

i first started coming here to check stats, and one day clicked on 'forum'. i went back to playing bf2 and checking stats.
bf2142 came out and i came back to the forums, not just the bf2 section. i've learned quite a bit, and there are threads i wish i never clicked into.
I don't think that stopping gaming equates to rushing to grow up. It's not rushed ... we* just grew out of it, I guess. Or perhaps it's just that our interests changed - primarily thanks to uni: clubbing/drinking, clubs & societies, new friends, new way of life.
If you look at playing games as a form of wasting time, then I guess I just waste my time differently now: Forums, music, tv shows (not watching TV, I mean like US tv shows).

liquidat0r, it's just as universal to start gaming with friends as end it - there were guys i worked with that asked me if i played, i hadn't in awhile, and they told about the beta of a game called 'Battlefield 2'. it was supposed to be like the DC mod we used to play . . .
Then perhaps me and my friends will start playing again when some new game comes out that we're all drawn to - for nostalgic reasons, possibly.

Aside: Facebook really fucked up this latest update. More than 50% of the time, the bottom bar with chat/etc is non existent and I keep ending up with just a blank news/live feed.
i had that on safari. clear cache and reload browser/facebook.
