Last friday at school I was called down to the office and was sent into the vice principal's office. She asked me how my math class was going and then proceeded to tell me that I had been reported for stealing a math test from the teacher. I said that I had heard about someone stealing a test but wasn't involved, which is true. She then accused me of lying and said she knew that I had done it (I HADN'T). I still said I hadn't been involved. She checked my grades and noted how I had a 3.90 (really good grades). She then brought in another student who I knew from school and sent me out of her office, closing the door.

I waited for 5 minutes and then the door opened and the student left. She said she would call me down again soon and said I could go to class. I talked to that same kid and he said he admitted that he had stolen one. When asked about me, he said that I had no involvement that he knew of.

I talked to him an hour after school and they said he had had a conference with the math teacher, vice principal, and his dad. They had suspended him for 2 days.

Now I'm really scared because I think they might suspend me and it will go on my permanent record. I once again want to say that I didn't steal a test nor was involved. What are my options at this point? What will they most likely do? How can I make sure I don't get in trouble for something I didn't do?

BTW I'm in high school.

I think that if she knew you had done it you'd already be suspended.

And if a test was stolen they already found the guy who did it.

Your principal is a bitch. Tell her to either prove it or admit that she was wrong.

If she can't do that, enjoy your two days of freedom.

What about for college. I'm considering applying for Dartmouth and Stanford. Will this affect that?

MY parents are going to have to work additional hours so we can afford it but if you're talking about bribery, we can't cover that. (and plus my parents would rather just send me to a state school)

You talked to the school admin and the kid got in trouble for it.

Sorry they're going to blame it on you, then this is going to happen.

This.

And nothing is gonna happen if you ever get suspended (you won't get suspended in this case for sure anyway) I've been suspended so many times from telling the teacher to fuck off to physically assaulting one by throwing my books at her (she deserved it tbfh) And I've been accepted to every school I've applied after high school.

and once again to be clear

I once went through a massive ordeal at school when i was younger where I was constantly taken to the heads office over and over and interrogated/shouted at over something involving a kid being beaten up after school (it would've been nothing serious, we were about 10).

Needless to say it was the first i'd even heard about the attack when I was taken into the office for the first time...

dont worry about it if you get suspended its just a two day vacation.

ask them where the proof is, ask to see the code in the school handbook thing where it specifically says the guidelines. better yet have your parents do it. i bet they dont have shit

If you get suspended then you have to say on your college apps that you got suspended, and write a short statement about why you got suspended. If your school's college counselors are worth a damn they'll help you try and spin it to not look bad (unless it was something bad in which case good luck). Schools don't look kindly at things like cheating and plagiarism though. So if you do get suspended you'll have to give your side of the story.

Hopefully they won't do shit to you though.
