Last friday at school I was called down to the office and was sent into the vice principal's office. She asked me how my math class was going and then proceeded to tell me that I had been reported for stealing a math test from the teacher. I said that I had heard about someone stealing a test but wasn't involved, which is true. She then accused me of lying and said she knew that I had done it (I HADN'T). I still said I hadn't been involved. She checked my grades and noted how I had a 3.90 (really good grades). She then brought in another student who I knew from school and sent me out of her office, closing the door.
I waited for 5 minutes and then the door opened and the student left. She said she would call me down again soon and said I could go to class. I talked to that same kid and he said he admitted that he had stolen one. When asked about me, he said that I had no involvement that he knew of.
I talked to him an hour after school and they said he had had a conference with the math teacher, vice principal, and his dad. They had suspended him for 2 days.
Now I'm really scared because I think they might suspend me and it will go on my permanent record. I once again want to say that I didn't steal a test nor was involved. What are my options at this point? What will they most likely do? How can I make sure I don't get in trouble for something I didn't do?
BTW I'm in high school.
