This happened to me earlier to today...I was trying to get into the pilot's seat but ended up as gunner instead, no biggie I can hang with the TV's, etc.  So the pilot FIRST[UK] takes me to the edge of the map to TK me...this is after he crashed about 6 choppers in 30 seconds or less.  He then starts TK'ing me on the helipad waiting for the next chopper to spawn.  So I respawn and low and behold he has crashed the chopper again, so I run to the helipad and he TK's me again.  I initiate a kick vote and head for teh Vodnik to join the battle....so he dies a half dozen more times and kick vote is unsuccessful...

Why is it that some people don't even give a person a chance before offing them....you might be suprised and find a new flying mate....

Sure I don't have a hundred hours in the chopper (ok, so I don't have many at all) but I think I do a good job as the gunner and am improving a bunch as a pilot (thanks to ArmyDr)....anyway, give people a chance.

if everyone where like you in this game soner than latter servers would be out off -privates & newbies- enventually would make this game boring for everyone else not whilling to waste 10hr days in game, that lead us to a game full of vicius ego-jerks....

sounds boring to me.

People will tk me as I try to get in an airplane.  It may appear that I would suck at the airplane since I have such low time in it, when I actually play a map with planes.  But I have played both the plane and chopper nearly 20hours in non-ranked servers.
This game should be about teamwork but it is all about 'how can I get the most points'

Peace Worx.
1 map where you have a challenge, i salute you sir.
Ok, let´s go.

As Gunner you have to get rid of hundreds of possible enemys:

- AAs (many of them)

- Planes (A good gunner takes care of them too )

- Enemy choppers (be fast...or die)

- Infantry (ATs)

- Vodniks (Important!)

- Enemy Tanks & Apcs

In maps like Wake Island you have that whole list in 1 map and you have to be VERY fast in order to recognize the danger and react properly. There is no 2nd chance, 1 mistake = Death.

Easy?
Wow you really do think gunning is harder then piloting don't you?

What a joke...all that shit you just mentioned involves you sitting in a seat while YOUR PILOT AIMS YOU and keeps you alive.

I like gunning at times because it's just a point-click fest, i even have one hand free to smoke with Nothing even close to the challenge of piloting a chopper (well).

it is disgusting to tk for any vehicle in any situation.
I mostly play as infantry on every map, not just urban maps, hardly even get into armors, but to tk for a vehicle is just pathetic. If I wanted to go with the attack chopper and someone gets in quicker than me, ill let it be.
If I have a friend with me but someone else gets in the gunner seat and refuses to leave then i wont kill him/her
because there are multiple other ways to play with your friend on your side, you can still end up with 70-80 points IRA when you are not in a chopper. This way you had a good time and the "noob" gunner also had a good time because you didnt shoot him in the head or did anything else to get rid of him and everyone is happy.
And one more thing: practicing on empty servers are as good as punching the air to become a professional boxer.

I fly the cobra to the line that is out of bounds (the line where commander says "Get back to the fight or you will be shot") You have to zoom in on minimap to see that his cabin is out of bounds and not yours otherwise you both will die, now that he's out of bounds his health dropps after few seconds and yours shouldn't (if it does he will always die first, you just have to make a quick move)he dies you don't

not a cute story but a good hint for unwanted gunners, I know this will get out of hand eventually so it is best that you know what the pilots are capable of before you will try to be an asshole
So who the fuck do you think you are that you can chopper whore and dictate who gets to fly gunner?

You are probably the most arrogant prick I have ever heard on these forums.  People like you should have their stats reset for intentionally tking a team member so you can get your buddy in the chopper.

Maybe we should send this post to EA and see what they think?

But we all have to learn.................................

Back in the early days. I jumped in as gunner and the guy was yealling at me to bail. So after 3 minutes of it, I jumped out, his mate jumped in, I put c4 on the chopper and as they flew away blew it to smitherens(sp).

I told them first come, first served.

While i agree with some comments about practicing on non ranked servers, the kill yr gunner tactic shows why this game has got so bad,if anyone thinks they are the greatest, well that shows a very poor player really, and we all were bad once, hence i only play on 2 servers now, which actually help newbies to the game not kill or shout at them,,,just my humble opinion,so be warned if u happen on one of these servers and start with the im the friggin best u would be kicked and banned....lol

That's piss..

But I'm sick of it now, I mostly fly I never loose 1on1's with other heli's as long as I've got someone who can gun slightly.. And when I'm gunning I'll hit another heli 98% of the time with a TV at longest range..

One day I'll find a good pilot who will come on Teamspeak .. any offer?

If this post, and others like it, are not an example of why jets and helos ruined this game, then I don't know what is.

I was the victim of this once...

I had been doing pretty good at the gunner position over a few rounds, so I get in the gunner seat and this colonel is my pilot...so I'm thinkin "okay..he's gotta be pretty decent".....

WRONG....he tries that crap on me...

so before I die...I jump out....and start swimming back to the island (I'm on Wake...which is a LONG swim)

but instead...the asshole decides to be nice and pick me back up and drop me back off at the airfield.....

all the while going WTMF

Hi, I've been playing for a while and am a fairly good front gunner. This however is unknown to anyone who hasn't checked my stats, which of course none of you whizz-kid pilots ever do, right.

So some jumped up little pilot tries to kick me out of the seat by telling me to bail out, to which I reply 'negative'. He then does the border trick on me. Okay, so I cannot be bothered to whine at him how good I am, and I don't want to just teamkill him and lose points [though I did think about it ], so this is what I did.....

THIS IS A TRICK TO DO TO ANY HELI PILOT, BUT PARTICULARLY TO THE IDIOTS WHO WON'T GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO GUN...... [only to be used for revenge when you are treated as above by your so-called team mates]

Simply respawn as an Assault, and if you have played SF or have the unlock, simply face up when the chopper is nearly above you and THROW A FLASHBANG STRAIGHT UP INTO THE AIR.

I had the pleasure of LMFAO as he whirled and spun out of control and crashed into the mountain side twice, HA HA HA HA HA.
OMFG, this is the funniest shit I have heard, lol. Alpinestar, you need to get a fucking clue, along with the others who think they are chopper gods, its a game, enjoy it.....

What to enjoy ? Enjoy dieing from enemy TV-guided missile while your moron (read:gunner) is using his gun ?
2 everybody who are against TK - don't you all understand that because of newb in gunner seat choper (read:pilot) dies in many many situations (such as choper vs choper , small ground AA's , etc)  , while with good gunner it will survive  ...
I think , better is to TK than to die yourself.

lol, so all gunners are bad? i will talk about BAD pilots

lets name up some asshats:

Clanfags : TKing the gunner so his clanmate can take the position
Thinking''7331''pilots: Asshats that think their style of flying is very good (loops, moving too much so the gunner cant take a clean shot and if they die ...its the gunners fault)

ow and the Red zone doesnt scare me...i have always C4 pasted on the nose so if u think u can get rid of me ...well if my healths starts to drop...BLAM! both dead. IF you wont let me gun...the i wont let u fly...and the punishments doesnt hurt me...its just another TK on my stats lol.

So its not only the gunner thats to blame for..its both sides that are sometime complete asshats

Servers that help noobs? A myth, surely? Every server I've been on has been so anti-noob it hurts. Please furnish me with the i.p.'s so I can plumb the depths of this mystery.

To those that think gunning is harder than piloting, you're wrong. A gunner just has to kill whatever he sees, preferably the most dangerous enemies first. The pilot has to worry about avoiding death in any number of ways, getting the helicopter to the best possible location on the map at any given time, as well as providing the gunner with the best possible shot. Look at it this way, a good gunner can't make up for a bad pilot, but a good pilot can help make up for a bad gunner. I may be a bit biased though, being a pilot 90% of the time.
