and again... your way is, what? do nothing?

and you fail to understand recessions if you think unemployment had any chance of going down any time before the middle of next year.

apparently president obama doesn't understand recessions ie "this earmark wet dream will curb unemployment at 8%"

id rather let the free market take control rather than suffocate my great great great grandchildren in an enormous debt.

that's just reckless optimism (every government is doing it), but that does not mean that his approach hasn't worked. It has, just like ours has, the PRC's has etc. etc.

his approach hasnt worked he successfully put a band aid on an artery wound. its only a temporary fix. you can't have a real recovery until you have a real recession,

So we wont be importing as much.. We will start to produce/manufacture again. It depends on how you look at it.

Not enough pictures for you?

One day we will wake up and America will be bankrupt. It will happen late at night, on a weekend maybe.

Suddenly our money will be worthless. @ Kman, if it is true that we will start making stuff again, there is hope.

Some countries intentionally devalue their currency. Canadians and Euros alike are already salivating at the prospect of coming to America for cheap goods. Inevitably this will result in a natural transfer of wealth back here. It's a global economy. A rapid decline is a little worrisome though. What do you expect when the US Government is printing money the way it is now?

But hasn't the Euro lost value against the dollar since the recession?

It has recently but it's still stronger. 1 Euro = 1.4989 U.S. dollars

It's still a very significant difference. Ask a well traveled European like Cam.. bargains galore for them.

I'm hoping it continues to go through the floor. Although tbh, I'm not sure how long it's realistically going to do that for, I may change over some money soon before February when I come to the US.

and?

you guys are so obsessed with the idea that you might need to spend money and that might have some byproducts that you forget how bad it could've been otherwise.
