I have this Onkyo TX-SR700 (http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=TX- … er&p=s).
The problem I'm having is that the FM Tuner only picks up static (I managed to pick up one station that was slightly static-y.) in the Mono FM Audio, but in Stereo FM Audio, it is complete silence, and AM is also pure silence.
Also, the tuner used to work a couple weeks ago, and no changes have been made since then and I can't get the tuner to work. It never had an external antenna, and it used to pick up every signal clearly.
Also, I can't get the TV audio to work in Zone 2 (allows me to play audio throughout the house via speakers built into the walls.)

If anyone can shed some light, it would be appreciated.

Try adding an antenna. And how is the TV audio source connected?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

DVD to TV is HDMI and TV to Receiver is Optical.

I'll purchase an antenna, but I find it strange that it would pick up stations perfectly without one a few weeks ago.

What do you mean 'can't get TV audio to work', there's a pretty big list of things.... for starters, does the audio play elsewhere, and does anything else (like a CD player) play to that zone 2?

And by no changes, do you mean no changes to the reciever, or no changes to the surrounding area (like installation of wireless routers, or other electronic devices in close proximity)?

You don't need to purchase an antenna, just poke a piece of wire into the antenna jack.

The audio played from the TV as the source will not go through to the Zone 2 speakers; I do not have a CD Player, I've just always used my DVD player, which has the same result. The audio although, switches to Stereo on the Surround speakers (which is normal) but nothing to the Zone 2.
And by no changes, I mean both to the receiver and surrounding area. The only recent change was we bought a new cordless house phone, which I unplugged and completely turned off, and I still had the same issue.

So Zone 2 is not getting any audio at all? Check the cables, signal path, etc. etc.............

Zone 2 does receive audio, but only in the FM Tuner.
I think I read somewhere that connecting the TV to the Receiver with an Optical cable is why Zone 2 won't play any audio.
