I'd just like to say I love my iPhone and it's probably the best handheld thing i've ever bought.

That said, when I try to plug my iPhone into my PC it restarts my computer...

I only ever need to plug it in to sync my music, I can download/do everything else from the iphone itself, but this is really starting to get annoying now. I don't see a blue screen or anything it just turns off, then a few seconds later starts up again.

What can I try?

I know I've read about this happening before.. maybe not here. I think it may be a common problem.

Yeah that's what's even more annoying, so many people have had this problem for a long time now, and apple have taken this long to not do anything about it...

Pretty unrelated, and pointless to ask, but how do you update apps that're over 10MB? It forces you to plug into iTunes

Under the library, on the applications 'page', it should say "updates available". Hit that and it'll let you download the updates.

As for the OP, how fucking weird. More a windows problem?..

Running a P55 chipset? If so, that might be your problem.

Is it WiFi? I swear I've seen my iPod(Connected to WiFi) ask to connect to iTunes to download an update >10MB.

I'm pretty sure I've downloaded more than 10MB to the iPhone just using the iPhone itself. I might be wrong though. Sometimes I can connect it and sync without restarting, but I was trying to send some songs to it last night and it restarted 3 times in a row...

They don't do that. They can install apps and updates over 10MB easily over Wi-Fi.
