I'm looking for a cheap router with WLAN.
Under 50€, as much under as possible, with quality in mind though

Right now I'm thinking of getting a A-Link RR24AP - ADSL2/2+.
That's 47€.

I wouldn't recommend any of these *-Link companies. They aren't really much good.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Linksys seems to be the leader if you find something on sale.

I believe Belkin and Asus are also good ones.

Don't listen to Tazz. He has personal experience.

I use a DSL-G604T and the thing won't die.

That said they're a little dated now, so Netgear DG834G.

We have D-Link rack switches handling all the network traffic in the school. They overheat if you chew too much data through them. They crash if you accidentally connect one to itself, something that even my late-90's Allied Telesyn switch at home has protection for!

I had a D-Link WLAN router at home some time ago. It would crash if you had too many connections open.
A mate of mine has an A-Link Gb card in his server (lol), it can barely push 400Mb/s.
I have a couple of 100Mb TP-Link switches and WLAN cards lying around, and the switches run so hot that they need a heat sink on the processor. The WLAN cards can't connect if I load down the graphics card in the computer.

That said, I'd choose TP-Link over the other *-Link companies, as they mainly just use reference designs of really cheap components.

I just got given a Draytek one - I'd never heard of them, but I'm very happy with it. It's got loads of interesting features to play with - like VPN config, on a cheap home router!

That said, I've only had it a few days, so I have no idea how reliable it'll be.

I imagine you could find a WRT54 from Linksys for €50. I can't remember how much I paid for mine here in Austria. Surely you can find even a lightly used one on eBay.
