@miggle: hahaha 'worked' for pwnage.tv. that shit you pulled for like, a month on xfire? ok. right. and playing a bunch of games on 'leagues' doesn't mean anything to me. bf2 and tf2 all have public-access ladders that require no skill or commitment to play on. come to me with some LAN experience, some titles and some prize-winnings/sponsorships and i'll consider you 'serious' enough to warrant all this fucking elitism you spout constantly. not even the top pro teams would feel at liberty to whine constantly like you do...
More like 10 months, and I only ended up quitting because my sound card fried itself. It was actually pretty serious, and I still hang out with some of the best L4D players out there.
And maybe the pro teams aren't as serious as me? Maybe they don't know much about games they don't play? Will 50000 hours of CoD4 give you a good idea of the gaming industry?
You seem to think that competitive play is the only part of gaming worth anything, I hate to break it to you but plenty of non-competitive players are pretty serious about their pastime as well. I think you'll find quite a few Red Sox fans care more about the game than the Sox themselves.
you're constantly bitching about the call of duty games (specifically mw1/mw2) as if you have the credibility. i dont give a fuck if you 'hang out' with the best l4d players "out there". out where? your corner of the NA? you 'hang out' with them? good for you dude, i wouldn't want to hang out with pro gamers in my spare time, it sounds like a fucking dire form of social interaction.
your analogy is just reductio ad absurdum. im not asserting that professional gamers are the only ones with informed opinions at all. my argument is thus: you constantly bitch about mw2, you have never played it for any other reason or purpose other than to find reasons/justifications to gripe. your previous experience is in cod2/mw2, of which you evidently didnt play to a decent-enough level/activity to have a proper opinion and grasp of the game anyway. you sound like the sort of gamer that plays a game in public nub-mode for a few months, finds a team to match with on IRC once a month, and then considers himself the next fatal1ty. doesn't float. you're criticizing mw2 as a failure for pc gamers and the 'serious' demographic of gamers, i.e. ones with a PC and not an xbox360/ps3, but you've never properly belonged to that contingent anyway to any considerable degree. i dont give a fuck what you can read on forums or gaming websites as part of your "pastime". you havent played mw2 properly or in an unbias fashion. you didnt play the preceding games seriously enough to have a proper point of reference when it comes to comparing their 'pro' suitability. read digg.com and worship the opinionated bandwagon-members and 'commentate' on insipid l4d games all you want... it doesn't validate your constant bitch-moaning.
sleep time, post later
I have played MW2.
If my opinion is different from yours (which with CoD1/2 it hardly is)then I haven't played enough to understand it? And you attack me for elitism?
I've never said I was the next fatal1ty, or even pro quality. To tell you the truth I don't particularly enjoy competitive play, nor do a lot of people.
I'm pretty sure you have me confused for Finray, I was the first to defend IW. Look at page 1.
How many people honestly went into MW2 with out a bias? If you don't have an opinion of a game before buying it, you probably don't know enough about it to consider buying it.
I've never talked about CoD1/2/4's "Pro suitability" I couldn't care less about that.
im not asserting that professional gamers are the only ones with informed opinions at all.
You absolutely are, you seem to think that anybody without competitive experience hasn't played enough to understand the game.
your previous experience is in cod2/mw2, of which you evidently didnt play to a decent-enough level/activity to have a proper opinion and grasp of the game anyway
