I need some help getting oblivion working with wine, I can install it and get to the menu,but when I hit play it crashes and cancels out, any help is appreciated

You really need to have the proper video card drivers, which are often difficult to find for a Linux distribution.

GeForce 6600,and I have the video card drivers for it, I believe....
make sure you're updated to the latest patch.
The newest nv driver is 190.42 afaik.

You meet the minimum, but just. And you don't meet the recommended. Try running everything on low.

Download the d3dx??.dll files and put them in Wine's System32 folder.
