Of course I wasn't expecting a follow up to cod1/2. I was expecting a follow up to Cod4. And when you compare the two, all MW2 offers is less choice for the PC gamer in pretty much every aspect of the game. Although I must admit, the custom mouse control and in game chat must be a great thrill to see in action.
widespread opinion is that mw2 is more fun, better and an improvement on the faux-serious, 'im still desperately trying to cling to a semblance of pc-pr0 sensibility', spammy mw1 shit. so i don't really know what you're talking about there. and QUIT the boring bandwagon hopping on IW developer's quote-train dicks all the time, jesus. do you really think you're being witty or intelligent by making such puerile 'satire'?
i use hazardous quotation marks because even labelling it as satire implies some sort of skill with wit, which you critically lack.you're just boring. you haven't played the game and you're desperately clinging to the same 4-5 pseudo-arguments against the game that you have gleamed from rabid-bandwagon articles and shitty second-hand sources that have floated around the internet 100 times over now, helping to fuel the general geekrage and indignation of the pc gaming 'elite' (hazardous quote marks used again for the same reasons of dubiosity). no one should be more disappointed than me that a call of duty game represents THIS. but im playing it as if it's a different franchise - which it effectively is now, in a developmental and marketing sense - and it's fun. sure i can't play it for 1000 hours and become a leetzor with rifles-only and be all high-and-mighty and i-r-serious-fps-gamer, but i can hop on, be connected to a great, fun server in 2 minutes, and i can blast away for hours on end. i couldn't do that with mw1. it was too awkwardly stuck in between casual-console design and still vainly trying to cling to the old pc-gaming tradition and competitiveness. it was just bland, uninspiring and full of spammy, shitty features. even the modern-warfare brand features (perks, deathstreaks, killstreaks) have been drastically improved in their use, effect and utility so that it's not such a frustrating rage-fest. it's a better game than mw1, and the only reason that you'll refute that forever is because you're a sheep to a bunch of 'enraged' nerds that like to piss and moan and boycott something. 3 months ago it was l4d2 for steam's shameless business opportunism, now it's IW's turn because -- shock horror! -- they're doing the same thing and are going for the $$$ and the widespread popularity. i find that to be a very childish and naive reason to 'make a stand' against a fucking company. wisen up a bit.
