God I hate this, happens quite often. I try to access my router by entering the gateway IP in the address bar (10.0.0.138), but it says that that address is currently unavailable.

I'm using a static IP on this PC, with that as the assigned gateway, so if the router has changed its IP or whatever, I shouldn't have internet at all, right?

Also, can't access the router from any PC on the network..

Reset it. It happens to me sometimes, so I just reset it and load up the router settings again. What router?

It's a router/modem combo shizzle from Zyxel... I don't really want to reset it, took a fuckton of energy to get it to work

That's a weird one. Are you sure about that number. Usually you just type in 192.168 etc, even if you have set up a static IP

yeah, it was 10.0.0.138 out of the box.. I've used it several times to access it, but sometimes it just won't work..

Go to run. Type in Cmd. Then type ipconfig/all and press enter. What does the default gateway say.

There are two "pools" of reserved addresses for routers etc

192.168.x.x

Well that's weird, try a different browser or something. Or turn the router off (power off), then turn it on again. That won't reset it, so you won't have to do all the long shit again, but it might still clear out some shit and make it work properly again.

oryte, I remember now - I fucked around in the remote management settings to try to get UPnP to work... I changed the remote management port in pure desperation..

now I have to add a port to the end of the gateway to access the router.. Maybe that's why UPnP isn't working with the XBox? What should the port be so I don't have to enter it everytime? I thought it was 60, but that's wrong, aparently.

XBL tells me my NAT is too strict, which is why I can't game online, apparently.. I have opened ports and turned off firewall.

There's also 172.16.x.x and all the way to 172.31.255.255. Just FYI. Although nobody uses those.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I think you're looking for port 80, default HTML port. UPnP is a different protocol, but I don't know too much about it. However, I'd guess that it doesn't run through the HTTP management of the router.
