I signed up to the TA - Engineers.
After 6 months they still couldn't find a doctor to give about 20 of us medicals, and apparently had no prospect of doing so, so I gave up.
Turning up every month to sit in a room and do nothing seemed like a waste.
The guys who did go on exercise had to take their own cars because none of the vehicles worked.
I reckoned if the army couldn't find an army doctor in six months Aldershot in peacetime what chance did I have if I ever got injured in a war?
That and our introduction to the SA80 was: "This is the SA80. Its total fucking shit but we have to use it because we have no choice. Here are all the bits which go wrong, break, or be misassembled rendering it useless"
