I electrocuted myself with an iron once

Being a chemist though, I've had the pleasure (misfortune) of inhaling:  Chlorine, 18M Ammonia, Hydrogen Sulfide, and boiling sulfuric acid, and a faint (whew) whiff of Hydrogen Flouride.

I'd have to say chlorine was the worst, burns all the way to the lungs

Lesson learned:  keep clumsy people away from you when they're carrying hot beakers

We were walking back from a bar on Front St (center of downtown Toronto) and one of my friends was being a complete jackass and trying to pick up random girls on the street, so he had it coming. It was pretty horrible event, not because of the sound of him yelping and the buzz of the hand-held taser, but because he pissed himself when he did go to the ground. Laughed for months.

There are different strengths of tasers.

One of my buddies used to have one, though it was probably one of the weaker ones. He was the type of guy to smash beer cans on his head... but he would just sit there letting it arc on his arm like no big deal. It would leave little marks but that was about it. I never felt the need to get tasered but when drinking he would zap different people with it... Never really seemed like it was that bad TBH. Kinda scary because so many people buy those for safety, and unless you got a real heavy duty one I realized it wasn't really gonna do anything but make the person you were trying to stop annoyed.
