Today I saw a silver targa porsche on PCH. It looked fairly new, maybe a 98? It had a handlebar looking arch going over the back engine with the brake light on it, and the coast to coast brake lights. It wasn't like the 911 it was much narrower.

Anyways, it looked so fucking sexy- and I need a new car in a few weeks- and rather than getting a new car I kind of want a project car like this. The fucker was sooo mean two piece wheels and so clean it looked brand new.

Anyways, can someone tell me what model number and year this is? I'm dyslexic with all the 9** numbers. hopefully theyre cheap. I just saw a 96 C4s asking 65k ):

figured it out. its a 993. but i still don't know why that one had the weird arched brake light and i want that! it looked much cleaner for some reason too. like a special edition or something.

was just about to post a picture of a 993, could have been an optional extra, the spolier.

what year is that?
it appears they ran that model from 1996, i think the ones posted are 1998's. I'm sure they changed chassis in 98/99.

a few used ones in the UK for around £30, immaculate for that price by the looks of things.

I am not really a Porsche expert, but I think the 993 was the last of the air cooled 911's. Apparently the engine was pretty tough ( extra bearings or something) . Possible future classic.
Look out for servicing costs, although to be honest I doubt that will be a prob since you are about to buy a $50K-$60K machine.
