So i have a D-link DSL-504T gen 2 router, i have had this for a fair few months, only recently within the last half week it has started screwing up and cutting out occasionally (and the most annoying times), and only today it has started to not access the internet at all, its just gone to the shit, i can still get the LAN network but not the internet.

now i have had this problem with other routers too, and they have all done the same thing, a NetComm one and a BILLION one too. and they have all ended up in the shit pile.

At the moment im using just a speed touch modem, which is a heap of crap in itself, but its working for now.

so i was wondering guys if you knew anything how to fix? i have tried resetting etc...

i dont really wish to purchase another because it will be the third router purchased within 10 months

Thanks

What do the logs say?

Shit line tbqf. Linksys seems to be the only one that will hold onto the connection but gets shiteful syncs.

Basically I have the same issue, been through many routers, and would suggest if you do intend in buying another router get a Linksys as in my experience it won't drop the connection, just reduce it to shit (ie: today I'm 480kbps).

They are just a bitch to keep replacing, i never really had a problem with connection speed, cause my max is  pretty much 150kbps

Protip: You mean 1500kbps or 150KB/s

You're guaranteed 1500kbps (unless you have the gall to go with an ISP 1/8th the price of Bigpond).

This wasn't about speeds, but the fact the Linksys doesn't just drop the connection like the others do.

You have a shit line. Telstra won't do anything. The best you can do is go with more stubborn equipment.

Yes i meant 150KB/s

At one stage i thought it was an issue with the power when we got black outs they would always seem to fuck up, but then we got surge protectors and then nothing for ages, until recently.

our ISP is westnet but i assume they just piggy back all of testra's lines

Tru. However when I was with them they did convince Telstra to send a man out. My line was perfect for about 4 months

Now all they do is say it must be my house. Yeah all that dilapidated CAT6 must be doing it, eh?

January 1st, 0:00, ie: it's forgotten.

Means shit to me, I was hoping it would throw up what causes it to disconnect (you will see it repeat over and over if it's frequent).
