5770 vs 5770

I'm thinking I might need to upgrade my 8600gt because it keeps crapping out on me and overheating in call of duty
I'm basically set on the 5770 but I had a question
I saw there were 2 different models of the 5770, one smaller round one, and one long and square one
The first is $170, the second, $180
The only difference i see is the cooler. So which one is better, shorter and rounder, or longer and rectangular?

I say get the rectangular cooler since the card will blow the hot air outside the case, while the rounder cooler will just send the hot air back into the case.

i am in the same boat... i am going to get 1 or 2 new cards (crossfire maybe) soon....
and i have heard and read the 4870 (256 bit bus)
is a little faster and cheaper... no dx11 though

These are the folks who kept an eye on our Best Graphics Cards for the Money column, and when Radeon HD 4870s hit $140 bucks, they bought (and got a killer deal, even by today’s standards). If you belong to that group and are looking at “Radeon HD 5700-series,” expecting a big step up in performance, even the 5770 is a disappointment. After all, if you own a 4870 or 4890 already, that card is faster in today’s games.

Second one because of the cooling for overclocking. Second one even if not overclocking.

Unless if you're getting a aftermarket for cooling.

The only issue with the 48xx cards is that they're really loud and suck a lot of energy. I'm waiting on Nvidia to release their new stuff and then the 5850 will get cheaper. AMD will have the better price/performance in the end, I think, and the new cards are quieter and use much less electricity.

The HD 5870 is not quiet tho, far from it under load.

The HD 5770 is more reasonable in terms of noise.
