IMO unless a camera is blatantly visible all it's going to do is let you watch someone steal your stuff and then take the chance you might get it back. You'd need something visible or audible to make them think twice about taking it in the first place.Harmor wrote:

Usually a fake BIG camera and motion activated VERY BRIGHT light is enough of a deterrent. Your average junky/criminal/teenager will just move on to the next house/apartment. Chances are very small that an elite group of international criminals will try to rob your home, in which case you are fucked.

Actually, I want to buy a security camera for my house and hook it up to my computer. Anything that I can put outside my window and run a USB or something to my computer.. is that possible? I haven't done any research.
some punk kid, I know who is doing it, has been egging my truck and Jeep, and he keyed my dads car, $1,200 damage. The only problem is nobody has seen him do it because he does it in the middle of the night. I need something to catch him on camera... help?
and no I can't beat him up because hes like 13 years old and I'm not going to risk getting arrested.

Beating him up won't solve anything, he's one of those kids that would come back and do it twice as worse.
He spray painted the side of my neighbors house, wrote stuff like slut, skank, and whore, targeting the little girl in the house.
The kid is currently being sued because the people down the street caught him for steal beer out of their garage. A 13 year old with beer?
He's already going to rehab because he smokes marijuana and does hard drugs.
And of course the parents don't do anything because they believe their child is an angel, when actually he is Satan himself. But, the apple doesn't fall from the tree. Both parents were arrested at one point for dealing.

i don't have kids, but i remember being one. they respond to either pleasure or pain, and i'm sure you don't want to make him feel good about what he's doing.
