Some of y'all might remember a while back I asked for your help finding a nice pair of in-ear headphones. I found some klipsch custom 2s on a resalers site for $80ish. Well, the cords mesh covering has broken and split in multiple places, it's just as tangled and rigid as the day I got them, the tips fall off often and don't fit so well to my ears. I use them a few hours daily - so these might have seen 300 or so hours of use.

So I'm looking for:

in ear headphones
$100 ish, less maybe
sturdy cord, long lasting
use for: walking to class/while running

ideas?

Yeah, you might be able to get Shure 110s or 115s at that price.

There's a small selection of really good earphones for less than $100. Ignore Winston and Vareggs comments, Shure 110s are not worth it; their quality is very poor in comparison with their better brothers.

I advise the Sennheiser CX95s. I had them. Sturdiest cable you're going to find. Seriously. Sound is pretty darn good as well. Good mids, and nice highs, whilst having some nice bass.

I'm heading home now, will contribute more to this when I get home.

Actually, go for these:

I have Ultimate Ears, and the blow anything else in the market (except for the custom ears and the Shure SE530). Fantastic cable and very comfortable. I have the 700s, which are out of your price range, but I wouldn't say no to UE.

In this case he does, low-end shures just aren't good enough for the price they're asking.

I like my Sennheiser cx300s; but I'm no aficionado when it comes to audio gear. Good bass, comfortable, and excellent outside noise reduction.

Any other thoughts? I'd prefer something that doesn't just hang from my ear because that gets really annoying when I run, but it's not a huge concern.

Huh? Hangs from your ear? All the ones suggested are in-ear....

My klipschs have a plastic thing that bends over the top of your ear so that gravity isn't constantly trying to pull the earbuds out, especially while running.

I mean it's not a huge deal (I think the ones I have now are still under warranty), but something to consider.

Those 220s are in my amazon shopping cart now and I'll place the order soon unless anyone has another comment.

Those 220s can be turned over the ear, just like my 700s. The Sennheisers cannot, but the 220s definitely can.

Bumpy bump. Any last thoughts before I press purchase? Anyone else with similar priced in-ear or know the ones that zimmer is talking about?

I have a set of Sony in-ears that I really like. MDR EX80s. They don't make them anymore, but they have similar models. Really happy with mine that I bought a second pair for my girlfriend. Comes with three sets of tips and they work great and don't fall out at all. Set em once in my ear and forget about them.

I had them for a 9 hour flight over the Atlantic and they only started to bother me towards the end.
