I plan on getting the 80GB Zune for Christmas this year so I'm looking for some decent headphones to go with it.  I'm no audiophile at all, so I don't want to spend 100+ dollars on them, I'm looking to keep it below $50 while still sounding pretty good.  After doing some research I found these.  I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Koss brand or maybe have some different suggestions?

Koss is a good brand, although, to be honest, i've had these for mmm, 8 years now? Sound pretty nice, and cheap too

Portapros are pretty decent and have awesome warranty. However if you would prefer circumaural phones to on-ear have a look at Sennheiser HD201

It sounds like $100 is your hard cap, so hopefully you'll consider something between $50 and $100. The Grado Labs SR60i is somewhere between 70-80, but they are the most amazing cans shy of $100. If you don't need earbuds, take a look at it.

I wouldn't get headphones for an mp3 player, get in-ear earphones. Look a lot better.

I've never understood why people walk around with headphones.... it's so stupid to look at.

I took a pair of the Zalman 5.1 headphones on a long bus ride once. Couldn't find any others at the time.

I have those exact headphones for watching the TV when people are around and I don't want to make much noise.

They're nice, but flimsy and hellishly ugly. Sound quality is okay, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. The frame is pretty average - the adjusting thing is nice, but that's about it.

Possibly.  They are really cheap, is the sound quality any better than something else at that price?

I was looking for something a little cheaper because I'm asking for these for Christmas and I've already asked for a bunch of stuff already.  But perhaps if they are really that good I might buy them myself.

TBH, I've never done comparisons.
Even if I did, i have nothing else in that price range
All I can say is I like them, and I've used them for sound mixing/recording applications, and have been very happy with them.

My brother has a pair and, well I would say they are the best sounding headphones for the price, ever. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD201- … amp;sr=8-1

Obviously not the best headphones ever, but pretty awesome for sub $20

Especially Skullcandy. That brand should be aborted from the headphone world.

I'm not arguing that whichever you like best is best for you, but there isn't much room for opinions in that price range. HD201's just sound good and most of the headphones you get for less than $20 do not.
