Someone is selling one of these at my work for £125 and I was thinking about buying it. Anyone got one, had one, experienced one and would reccomend it?
Nokie!
I've got one.
I would recommend if you're looking for a phone with a darn good camera (considering it's a phone) and good media storage. I haven't really used GPS just because I don't have need of it, so I can't comment on that. If you plan to be doing a lot of internet surfing it's not worth it.
Otherwise it's great. I've dropped it multiple times and it's tanked it like a beast. One time I dropped it on concrete and it landed on its corner, then "rolled" 2 times, hitting all the corners. Barely dented one of the speakers and that's all lol. It's thicker than some phones, but it's not so much that I find it to be a problem...it's pretty light so I don't notice it in my pocket.
Battery life is pretty good considering what I was expecting from the reviews.

I probably will be using it for internet, it has WiFi right? The battery life might be a pain in the arse, Nokia smartphones always have really shit batteries in them.
It does have WiFi, but I mean the browser isn't great.
Okay I don't know if that's completely fair, but I don't do a whole lot of typing/texting so when I do, it feels awkward. I can't say how much of that is my fail and how much of it is the phone fail. All I'm saying is if you're looking for a phone to constantly browse the web it's not a great choice - it should be fine for light use.
Battery really isn't so bad...over turkey break it went for 3.5 days on 20-30 minutes of charge and about 1-2 hours of talk time.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Nice, that's not too bad come to think of it.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

I was looking at the 5530 before, full touch screen, wifi, Ovi apps etc, not sure which one to get. I used to have an N95 and that was kickass.
Tell me about it, I was once biking and my N82 fell out of my pocket, landed on asphalt and I ran over it with my bike.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Picked it up, had a few scratches, but still soldiering on.
Nokia build quality ftw.

I had a W810i for ... years. I once dropped it, by taking it out my pocket, checking the time, trying to put it back in, missing the opening of my pocket and dropping it from waist height onto the corner of a kerb, it bounced a good foot in the air, landed in a puddle, I wiped it off and went on my way.
Also I put it through the wash. lol.
Yeah but did it not break once you'd washed it?Finray wrote:

somewhere.
WTF?!
I have an N96 and it's the worse phone I've ever owned.
I, too, have dropped it many times, yet even the slightest drop will knock the sim out. Like listening to music on your phone? Prepare for random fast-forwarding that will scare the crap out of you.
Like slow slow loading times? Accidentally open the phone the wrong way and you will have to wait about a minute to get back to normal.
Shocking, slow phone. I regret getting it.
Also, the battery lasts like 3 days, less if you use it a lot.

Blackberry FTW.
shows how much you know... RIM's browser on those phones is atrocious.ghettoperson wrote:

It's great, what are you talking about?
Slow and clunky describes the Blackberry browser. Try the browser in Android (or the alternate Dolphin Browser - my current favorite) or the iPhone OS browser. Then you will see what I mean about having a GOOD mobile browser.ghettoperson wrote:

Maybe try loading Opera Mini onto the Blackberry? I hear that it's fabulous on the Blackberry (but not so great on the Android phones because of the touch screen).
RIMs browser does fail, but that is why you have Opera Mini that you can install on the Blackberries.CapnNismo wrote:

Man I dunno what you're talking about Link. I have never had issues with the music player, and the switch between the vertical/horizontal mode is sub one second. I have actually been impressed with how quickly it switches between them...
Yup. Same as my friends. It turns off and on several times a day and stuff.FFLink wrote:

My friend took it off him to check it out, pressed a few things, and next thing I know the phone has crashed and isn't recovering. Touch is poor and it's not very responsive. Granted, it's the best touch that Nokia have released, but still sub par.
Perhaps updating the firmware on it would fix said issues?
You're right about Opera Mini, though, Zim. I just made that very point in the "What tech did you buy today?" thread.

Actually now I think about it it's not very quick. I'll whack Opera on there though, see how that goes.
You'll more than likely be quite pleased with the results. Post back and let us know.ghettoperson wrote:

Maybe I just got a shit one. When did you get yours?Flaming_Maniac wrote:
