I keep getting alittle pop up at the bottom of my screen saying theres a security warning. I dont remember downloading and security programs so i dont know where it came from. i tried to open control panel to delete the program but it wont let me open it. And i just got a pop up for free porn. i havent downloaded any porn on this computer so i dont know whats going on. any help?
Any idea what the programs called?
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
Got any antivirus software?
What system scanners do you have?
Run AVG (it's free if you don't have it) and CCLeaner can clean up your registry (again, free).

It's because it uses some proxy thing to stop you doing this, use another pc to download the avg instalation file then copy it across on a memory stickMAGUIRE93 wrote:

No problems this thing just seems to be simple spyware that hijacks internet explorer amongst other things, try to use firefox or another browser if you have it for the time being until this is gone.MAGUIRE93 wrote:

^Do a few Google searches, but generally sticking in the Windows installer disk and going from there will work--it should give you the opportunity to format the drive completely.
Remember, back up all your important files first. (Music, Games from Steam, school/work documents, receipts, etc.) Once you format, it's gone for good.

wait. i restarted my computer just to see what happens and it seams that its gone. i think i might be safe now.
You could also try booting into safe mode, and try running anti-virus (AVG) again

Which anti malware program?
malwarebytes' anti-virus.
malwarebytes' anti-malware or anti virus?
The latter may be another bitch in disguise.

Whatever you do, right now anyway, DON'T use Avast!! I got my update for Avast earlier tonight, and the damn thing went crazy, thinks everything is a virus. I guess their forums are being overloaded with people seeking out solutions, it took me more than 5 minutes to get onto their forums. Mine currently shows 21 trojans, I finally decided to stop the scan. All of these are programs that I've been using for months to years.
I may just restore everything from the "virus chest" and uninstall Avast!!! Seems an antivirus program became a virus itself so to speak

That would explain why the Audacity installer showed up as a 'virus'...
