A Russian professor has evolved a technique that turns alcohol into powder for packaging in pill form.

Evgeny Moskalev of Saint Petersburg Technological University created the pills, which allow people to consume their favorite drinks just like any other solid food, the Times of India reports .

The new technique can solidify any kind of alcohol. People would be able to measure the amount of alcohol they consume by taking the pills.

"We have developed a technology that allowed us to turn any liquid solution into powder," Moskalev said.

The technology has been tested on liquor containing as much as 96% alcohol content.

In 2007, blogger Chad Galiano detailed how to make "vodka pills" in 24 hours by pouring flavored alcohol syrups into cornstarch and letting it set until it forms a hard candy.

These could be very dangerous. When you're consuming the alcohol and you feel every drop, your body is going to start revolting before you get to dangerous levels. Sure there is some lag time, but it's a lot better than just having to take 10 pills at a time...

Seems to me like it takes away all the "fun" parts and leaves the fucked up part with extra risk...

Part of the fun of alcohol is consuming the drinks, just like part of the fun of smoking pot is the camaraderie of smoking with people. I could see lots of people getting alcohol poisoning from this too. You don't get filled up from pills like you do with booze.

If im going out to get pissed ill only buy beers/spirits that i think taste nice and I try to saver them as much as possible.
