I imported the English version from the UK to get the game in the proper language and avoid crappy German dubs.
I was quite pissed when I realized that I could only buy the DLC via GFWL in German here in Austria.
Haven't bought any of those since and will definitely pirate them if I want to continue FO3.

Another fun thing is, that the standalone GFWL client doesn't start up at all if I change all my regional settings to English here in Austria.
(Which I need to do to enjoy Street Fighter 4 in full English.)

Once you've set up a Games for Windows Live profile, it all works seamlessly in my experience. I've played through 3 GFWL games and i've never had a problem with any of them. Except when I was trying to get a profile going the first time, which is the stage you're at. It took several hours before I got the game working and I was at the point where I was regretting spending £4 on the thing.

But yeah. Once its over and done with it works fine.

I remembered how they tried to make you buy a "gold" live account like on Xbox live to play online. That's why i didn't even bother play kane and lynch. Had some fun on singleplayer though.

I also lolled at most of the WL achievements in Batman. You get achievements for winning bosses ffs. Just complete the game and you have like 20 achievements.

I hate trophies like that, where you just get 'em for just doing the game. In terms of trophies for just doing the game, they should only count for the harder/hardest difficulties at least. Like in CoD WaW (and probably MW2) where they had separate silver trophies for beating every level on Veteran, it was some sort of incentive and added to the challenge of actually trying to beat WaW on veteran (hardest thing ever, but I did it)
