I was talkin to my broadband customer service and complaining about the speeds. he asked me how I was downloading and I said torrents. I never explicitly said that I was downloading illegal content but would they assume that I was and have me reported??? Bit of an OCD question here but would ease my mind if someone could answer. Thanks
Well, most customer service drones could probably give a damn what you're doing, as long as it doesn't get them fired.
Seriously, do you think a Best Buy tech is going to give a damn, if you mention you've got some great porn on your PC?
Now, make that tech a few hundred miles away, on the phone, and all you've told him is you've downloaded "stuff".
Unless you work for MI-#, you're probably clear.

If the entire ISP even gave a shit, you'd get sent an angry letter on behalf of the RIAA.
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
I very much doubt they'd do anything. But as far as I know, Eircom is the only company so far to start to crack down on illegal downloaders, heck even TPB is blocked for all Eircom customers. My ISP; Imagine still isn't doing that yet
Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 4GHz || 3x2 GB OCZ 1600Mhz DDR3 || 80GB Intel X25-M Gen 2 || KFA2 GTX 480 1536Mb ||| Samsung T220 || Xonar DX 7.1 || AV 40 || P6T Deluxe V2 || Win 7 HP 64 Bit || Lian Li P80
Makes me glad I'm using a private ISP, (because of my dad's job), 100% net neutrality ftw.
locally, 'the Geek Squad' got busted copying porn from a customer's computer. they got caught because they left the disc in the burner . . .rdx-fx wrote:

Considering Torrents are perfectly legal, then no. Just because you can get things illegally that way doesn't mean you do. You can get things illegally from normal downloads, you don't see people getting reported for using Rapidshare.Jackabo wrote:

I had an angry email sent to me. I said the downloaded game was through torrents, yes, but I thought I had downloaded the demo. They apologised but said don't let it happen again. lolCheez wrote:

Also, don't forget guys all calls are logged and may be used against you at a later day. Like this one for example:
