Try not to carry anything over from the other thread I made about a month ago, a few things have changed and I have formed some opinions myself, but want some more clarification.

You guys seem to rate Lenovo highly, and I had a look around Curries etc. and they recommended Toshiba as the most reliable (as in they got the least coming back for repairs).
I want to spend about £600 to £700 maybe slightly more on a laptop as a desktop replacement.
I need to decide whether it's better to buy an out-of-the-box laptop from a big high street retailer (read Curries/PC world) and have the convenience of taking it back easily if something goes wrong, or getting a Lenovo laptop that might have a slightly better build and perform better.

Some models I have been looking at;

Toshiba A500 - £699

Lenovo R500 - £739
(Add T6670 CPU, Windows Home Premium 64, and 4GB of RAM)

Anything on the Lenovo really worth adding on extra?

Am I right in thinking I need a 64bit Windows 7 for 4GB RAM, else it won't all be recognised?
Feel free to post any alternative machines, but bear in mind some conditions:
I don't want a mammoth screen (not 17" please), and not any smaller than 15.4, and I don't really need a HDD bigger than 500GB.

Ta.

Lenovo definately. Matte screen ftw! Also highly reliable.
