Ok, here it is. Say I get an xbox arcade with a hard drive with only 512 mb of memory than I buy a new hard drive with 20 gb of memory. Do you lose your save files? and if you do, is there any way of transfering the save games from the one hard drive to the other? Just wondering because I'm getting an xbox 360 for xmas from my girlfriend and she doesn't have much money to spend on hard drives and what not so I'm going to save up and buy me own but I wanted to know this because I want to start playing and saving atleast a little bit before I move up to the larger hard drive storage. Thanks guys.
You can switch save profiles via the memory card.

I'm sorry for asking stupid questions but does the xbox come with a memory card that I can use to transfer the files from one hard drive to the other? it has enough space?
No. You have to buy a memory card. Generally, games files are quite big. I recommend getting an xbox 360 pro cause it comes with the 60gb hard drive. The games I have on my xbox: madden 10, nba live 10, ncaa 10, forza 3, odst, halo3,and borderlands. All of my files come out to over 20 gig.C0Ry<3 wrote:

I'll have to talk my girlfriend into spending a lil bit more money this xmas on the pro, hopefully she doesn't mind. lol if not, I'll try to buy a hard drive with more storage. don't they sell 60 gig hard drives for the arcade?
If you really plan on playing the 360 much, go for the Elite version. if you go with arcade youll have to buy so many other things like new HDD etc etc. Or at least go for the middle range, the regular 360.
For myself i bought the Elite and i dont regret it one bit!

Any 360 HDD will fit on your Arcade.C0Ry<3 wrote:

The xbox proprietary hard drives are quite expensive last time I checked. If you're gonna sink all that money into an Xbox in terms of upgrading it you might aswell just get a PS3 instead

I like my ps3 more than my 360 or my Wii TBH.. Bluray FTW.
I'd prefer to play the xbox over the ps3 anyday, its just my preference. I'm going to try to get the pro, it comes with 60 gig and thats all I'll need I'm thinking and its only an extra 50 bucks. I'm sure my girlfriend won't mind. Thanks guys for all your help. I think the pro is my best option, money wise. Its the one I'll probably get.
I used to like the 360 until it died

I just talked to my girlfriend about it and she says she'll talk to the guys at the store and make sure I have atleast 60 gigs of memory so I don't care if she gets me the arcade or the pro, as long as it has the memory, I'm not too worried about it. I trust her. I just want her to buy the memory so I can use my hard earned buck on some more games lol
I got a launch system and bought a warranty through MS.. It expired in spring 09... if this one breaks im fucked.eleven bravo wrote:

Don't they break if they over heat? Maybe the guy thats on his 3rd one should give it some cool down time before playing again. lol
Or at least re-release a totally new version like Sony did with the PS3. The 360 is like 5 years old now. They could completely redesign it with 09/2010 components and have it much smaller, efficient and less prone to breakage. I know they already update the motherboards and chips in that way, but a total refresh is what the X360 needs. They could probably sell it for so cheap too.eleven bravo wrote:

There are more than just overheating issues with the 360. the first failure was overheating, the second was the E64 or E84 black screen of death, and the third one is is not reading all of my games now (drive is failing). the 360 has a 50% + failure rate.C0Ry<3 wrote:

wouldn't the new updated parts be more expensive?Mekstizzle wrote:

My exp with the 360 was not the best.
It freezed many times and after buying the arcade you end up spending more than the normal or the elite version by buying the wifi, the extra controller, the hard disk and the mic headphones. The arcade is just a trick to make you spend more money.
the 512mb stick is useless.

Okay so if your girlfriend has only enough money to get you a Xbox 360 arcade and if you decide to play a few games on it and saved them on the harddrive you can easily transfer the save files to a 20 gb harddrive if you decide to buy one.C0Ry<3 wrote:
