The xbox 360 GPU has a heatsink on it already. I want to replace it with another heatsink with a fan on it. It's around 70mm in size. Now can i use any heatsink i want? Or does it have to be specific?

They look like this...

What are your suggestions?

It's the graphics chip that overheats in most XBox RRoDs IIRC. Usually down to poor airflow in the case. Slap a few more fans in there and you'll be fine.

The 360 has USB ports on there, right? Buy one of those laptop fan pads and use that to blow air into the Xbox. I think you can lay those on their sides, right??? I don't have one, just throwing this out there as an idea. Or buy a USB to wall socket adapter to power the fan pad.

I heard it's because the heatsink is poorly attached to the chip.

I read of some guy that replaced his heatsink mounting with bolts, to hold it better, and he never had problems.

I heard this guy who bought a stock xbox  360, stuffed it in his entertainment center with little airflow, and he never had a problems.
This must be the answer.
