well, this means that i won't have too much money for about a year since it's gonna take some time until i can apply for a scholarship

the topic is gonna be "the history of the 2. ss-panzer-division 'das reich'"

some other postgraduates who have written doctor thesises about waffen-ss-topics told me, that there should be enough sources in regard to my topic and that a division-history of "das reich" is a scientific desideratum

so, after new year's eve, i'm going to the german military archives (in freiburg) in order to do some research. w00t!

nominally, there existed 38 waffen-ss-divisions (although many of them never reached the personnel strength of a division), but until today, there are only 2 (!) studies about waffen-ss-divisions (1. ss-division "leibstandarte adolf hitler" and 3. ss-division "totenkopf") that fulfil scientific requirements (and they were written in 1974 respectively 1977)

that was very surprising for me since it cannot entirely be due to source-issues
