Yeah, so I need another new MP3. Just recently (1 month ago) bought 16GB Samsung YP-P3 and it's fantastic and all.... but it's not big enough.

So I need to get rid of it and get a 32GB something. I'm thinking the Zune HD. Lovely touchscreen (from what I can see), great sound quality and a solid player all around. I just wanted to see if there were any opinions on it here.

And no. I am NOT getting the iPod Touch. Why? Because iPods fail for sound quality. They have no depth and I don't want to install shitty iTunes on my computer. Don't try and talk me into buying one, because I'm not going to listen. Added to the fact that they are totally overpriced.

I could just buy another YP-P3, but I have extra cash floating around, so I thought I might as well go an extra £50 (YP-P3 32GB is £150, Zune HD is £200) and get something nicer.

Thoughts? Comments?

Yeah, but his thread doesn't actually go in depth about anything but features. It stopped being popular when the Zune actually got released, lol.

It sounds so much better than my iPod. It also is fuckin light. It's a feather compared to my old iPod.
Touchscreen is nice, not too many apps yet though. Radio is a nice add-on even if I don't listen much. The internet isn't the fastest but it may be me. Tried audiosurf and PGR racing, both pretty good for free games. Graphics nice, haven't watched a movie yet but some pictures I put on it look really good.

How does the internet thing work? Do you have to pay a subscription?

I was thinking of getting a Zune, but my 80 GB iPod is still running fine.

Maybe when I have lots of money to throw around...

The Zune hasn't been sold internationally. That might have something to do with it's popularity.

I've played with it for a long time. The display is beautiful.

True. People started focusing on musical content over actual sound quality years ago. Mp3's were a very versatile format for sharing.

Go look at it and play with it yourself (if you can).
Shame Europe doesn't have HD radio.

I think you get more for the price with the Zune HD. But that might not be the case overseas though.

My dad got one for his girlfriend - he loves it. Unfortunately, we don't get the Zune pass in Europe, but I've had a Zune for a year now, and I love it (if not HD), and the HD is even better. You can use it as a media center too! Buy the dock and hook it up to the PC - perfect combo.

Nah .Sup, HD radio is never going to come to Europe anyway. It costs too much to maintain in such a large area. If it does, it will come in small doses littered around the richest areas.

Basically it's high definition audio (read: 5.1 surround sound support and the sort) delivered through Digital and Analogue signals.

HD Radio is like DAB, only much better and more advanced. We only have DAB in Europe, and I don't see iBiquity building a good enough market here to sell it.

Sounds like it's worth the £200.

@aerodynamic - Yeah, it technically still is, but is being sold everywhere now. I can live without having HD radio.

The people who talk about sound quality - You're either Apple fanboys (read: Uzique) or people who haven't been able to compare. Read all the comments/reviews about the Zune, each one of them says that the sound quality is clearly superior than the Touch. Just like the YP-P3 sound quality is. I've noticed it, I don't need your stupid remarks about it.

The fact is Kmar, if I bought this, I wouldn't be able to test it beforehand. No shop sells it, so I would have to go by what people say.
