I just got a new computer. I had BF2, SF and EuroForce installed on old computer.

I cannot download SF and Euroforce on new computer using the EA downloader. I keep getting the following error message:

Error: 7049:6000 Unidentified Encrypted Download Service Error. Servers may be unavailable- You should wait and try again later.

I cannot find this error message on techsupport.ea.com.

I you used EA downloader on another computer is that a problem? Is Nvidia firewall a problem?? Is there a problem with Firefox???

I am really stuck. Can anybody suggest a solution???

make sure ur firewall isnt blocking any ports the ea downloader is using. other than that submit a trouble ticket with EA.

I ran into the same problem - and am actually currently dealing with it as well.  Just finished my build and am trying to reinstall both BF2 and SF.  I have the disks for BF2 - I wish I did for SF as well. 

I installed BF2 first, then the 1.22 patch which did not install correctly.  So had to manually uninstall everything - and reinstall everything in the following order BF2 / SF/ patch 1.22.  Have not been able to download SF since (that was 2 days ago). 

EA told me to uninstall the downloader along with my cache and then reinstall the downloader which seemed to have worked.  Tonight I have been getting a message that the EA servers are down and to try back later....not sure if it is the same problem.  I was able to download it a couple days ago (once) - but had to unistall on their direction.

I will let you know if I make any progress.  I have also tried disabling the Nvidia firewall, and my antivirus software just in case that was screwing it up....you should try that as well.

Call the EA downloader tech support(yes there is one) 877-643-7304 after 8am PST.  They are nice guys that speak fluent English. They acknowledged there is a problem with the EA Downloader.  I gave them my password and they created the same problem  about servers being down, that you and I are having,  one their end.

They say the are aware of problem and are working on it.

Also I got a refund on SF downloaded from EA Downloader and bought SF at Best Buy. That was a different option on the above number.

The EA Downloader guy(his name was Landon) was checking the ABIT site forums and said there is some type of problem with Nvidia chipset on some ABIT boards with downloading on internet.  There is also some problem with Nvidia firewall.

I deleted BF2 and SF and reinstalled.  Patch 1.22 did not work.  I called the tech support number on the BF2 manual and the guy could not help.  He actually had one of the developers call me.  The guy said my problem was an isolated incident. LOLOLOLOLOL

He said download patches in SAFEMODE with network setting so nothing would be working in background.  I suggested downloading patch 1.21 full and 1.22 incremental and he said give it a shot. Lo and behold I tried that and was able to install both patch and play BF2 and SF!!!!

I jumped through many hoops but it works now.

I called ABIT to ask about above problems.  His English was terrible.  I could only understand every 7th word.
I guess I'll try againt when I feel like torturing myself!!!!

I hope you find something helpful from my nightmare.

P.S. If you know how to uninstall the Nvidia firewall let me know!!!!  Also if you find out anything usefull let me know.

P.P.S I tried downloading Euro Force today with EA downloader and it did not work.

Thanks very much - actually, this might help me.

Last night I was FINALLY able to download SF again.....turned off the NVida firewall (not sure how uninstall that yet either....but you can turn it off) and disabled my virus protection and tried once more.  Got a good connection and downloaded without a problem in about 1 hour.  Note - previously I had to pause and start the download process about 50 times to get it all!! 

So...then I successfully installed SF without a problem...so I am thinking, ok one more install and I am good to go!  I tried installing 1.22....and patch failed again about 2% into it!!!

I am going to try your method of 1.21 full and incrimental up to 1.22.  I had thought about that (actually I was going to start back at 1.02!) but did not think it would work!  Did you manually unistall both BF2 and SF again before trying the 1.21 full / 1.22 incrimental method (we will call that the jinx method)?  Did you take his advice and do it in safemode?

I have had this computer for a week now and am dying to try the game - very frustating.  My EA support thread below.....

I did not manually uninstall.  I used the EA uninstaller. I downloaded the patches in safemode.

oh - they have an uninstaller?  was not aware of that....I should try that....easier than manual uninstall....

Just look in programs in the EA folder for the uninstaller.  However I am sure the manual uninstall get everything.

Jinx - was able to finally get this installed.  I had to start with 1.12 full patch and build up from there.  Another person had the same problem with almost the same exact system and he was able to get through it yesterday by starting at the beginning and building up (after unistall/reinstall BF2 and SF)....thanks for the help....glad to FINALLY be playing the game again.....by the way,  I have to say, EA was of no help to me with this problem.....if it were not for these forums, I would be screwed....

huh?

speaking for myself....it did not matter how long you waited....you could wait until the next day and still get the same message.
