I'd like to know everyone's opinion on the AT class or more specifically the SRAW. Do you think it takes skill to kill infantry at long range with the SRAW?

I think it's a bit of luck and skill. It takes some skill to keep the rocket aiming for your target, but the damage inflicted seems to be random.

skill.  Its tight when you do a SRAW v ERYX showdown and you shoot at the same time and you win

It doesn't take skill to kill people at long range with SRAW, but it also doesn't take skill to get away from the missile when you are being shot at. It's really simple just to jump or move to the side at the least second, it's funny that so many Spec Op/Medic get killed by this.

If its a guy running, then yeah, its kinda hard.

But some random sniper?

it's easy 40% of the time

static targets mostly. once they move it cant really lock..so eh. only do it in tight sitations i.e. DAO ran out of shells, switch to tube.

I say skilled because there's less area to work with especially if the soldier is in the proned position.

What pisses me off is when people use them as the new noob tube.  You should not be able to fire them at a an infantry target a few yards away and live to tell about it.

I save my AT rockets for tanks.  The reason I play AT is to *gasp* kill tanks and 6 rockets don't go very far when you're trying to defend a flag from a tank and 2 APC's.  If there's some far away infantry to kill, I'll use the pistol while closing distance until I'm close enough to blast them with the DAO-12.

the anit tank missle has like 1% splash damage and i havent seen people use them as the new noob tube. Maybe you were just unfortunate to be on one of those servers.

I've seen loads of people run around as Anti-Tank with the rockets shooting infantry. Happens all the time. The armour with Anti-Tank helps...

It takes skill to use AT on anything at range, but more so with infantry.

When I'm AT-ing (which is a lot ) the weapon I'll have out depends on how likely I think I am to encounter infantry when I run round a corner...if I don't think I will, I'll have my AT rocket out; I know I can kill a grunt if I aim right, but a tank/APC and particularly a jeep is my Eryx/SRAW's preferred target.

Remember, if you're aiming it you still have to stand up...(Panzerschreck ftw!)

the thing that gets me is that there is no splash damage with the SRAW or ERYX ive been hit by the feet a few times and i havent died. now i understand that yes they are armour piercing but why oh why would it land at your feet explode and not kill you in a hail of flying concrete, red hot ARMOUR-PIERCING shrapnel and fire and brimstone

Every thing you do takes some sort of skill. one way or another. kiling a prone sniper with a rocket is just as easy as killing him with any weapon including a knife. (if he doesnt see you of course). And like anything else it depends on what the target is doing. To say it takes no skill to kill infantry with an AT rocket, is the same as saying it takes no skill to kill someone with anyother weapon in the game. Anyone can miss any shot at any time with any weapon. Some things take more skill then others but that also just depends on what the enemy is doing. for instance there are times when i died from an AT rocket and many times ive been able to get out of the way. So for the few guys that hit me they on that particular instance had good enough skill to get me. but others did not.. just like any other fire fight you have been in. To call it the "new noob tube" well thats crazy because of the splash damage is not as effective with the rocket. So you cant just shot the ground with a radius of 2 to 4 feet and kill someone. it pretty much has to land right on there big toe if your shoting at the ground to kill someone with the rocket.
