I have a video file (a home movie) in a .mkv file on my comptuer.

What is the simplest way to get this on a DVD so i can just pop it in my dvd player for my tv and watch it?

keep in mind i dont have any burning software or anything.... yet

I dunno if that would work, It would depend on what kind of DVD player he has. Some can simply read movie files off the DVD like a PC would, some can't. Most can though, I guess.

go into the options
it's self explanatory

get the source
choose the destination
go into options

choose your format and quality and convert

If you're using your PS3, don't waste a DVD. Just use a USB stick and convert the MKV using MKV2VOB and then put the file onto the USB. That's what I do.

That's what I used to do, except sometimes I wouldn't get a good stream if some other douche was also using my wireless connection. So I eventually just gave up and started using USB sticks (or to be more precise, I use my blackberry lol). I still stream sometimes, but rarely. I used to do it all the time. But then after some firmware update it wasn't as good for me

my neighbor used to do that- and i even went next door and told her to fuck off of it and she still didn't so now i put a pass on it the only reason i found out is because it said "so and sos" shared music on my itunes and i was like WTF. you're right, i have to turn down the HQ a little because my ps3 and router are upstairs (seperate rooms)

Nah it wasn't neighbours or anything, I was mainly referring to people using the laptop/other devices that are connected to the network etc.. I'd know if someone else was illegally using my internets
