to replace an 8800 GTS. I need something to put in my old rig with my q6600 (the last card's vram went bad and I ended up replacing the whole build). Something between $100 - 150 if possible as I need to buy a new case and hard drive as well. Newegg has some good deals on some ati cards right now but I don't know anything about them. Since this won't be my primary rig I don't expect it to be playing new games at maxed out settings, but it will still probably be used for gaming as long as it is capable.

Thanks, and as always, karma for useful posts

Will eat anything out today alive.

Will still run anything out today. Looking through the reviews, it even does DX12!

- The videocard has more than enough processing power to handle all the latest directx-10,11,12 requirements.

9800GT's are <$100, and are still pretty decent.

Or, you can get an HD 5750 (w/ DX 11) for ~$150 on Newegg.

That first one was the one I had been looking at

The second one would be perfect but is that a reliable brand? I've never heard of them and I would like this to last at least another couple years...

At the moment, within your budget, a 5770.

My 4670 was a Powercooler. Never had a problem with it.

Well it doesn't matter now, the Powercooler has been deactivated.

My timing is great... I guess the 5770 wins, haha.

Just gives you an excuse to spend more money on a better card
