I use a program to record me playing my keyboard. I noticed it only records one kind of sound even tho i change the tone to say drums. What do i need to record the different sounds my keyboard outputs?
Shirley you'd just change the instrument in the program?
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
If you want to record the physical sound, you connect it via the headphone/audio out jack.NeXuS wrote:

MIDI just sends the actual keys you're pressing and how hard, NOT the sounds associated with them, the sound is controlled within the program.
Alright. So can i plug the mic out into the microphone input in my computer?TheDonkey wrote:

Line-in is stereo, if that matters.
But why would you do that?

The line/headphone out goes into the Line-in on your computer, then adjust the volume around till the bars in whatever program you're using touch the red only on the strongest notes.NeXuS wrote:

Can anyone recomend a good recording program for MIDI?

Cubase is also a popular one, but I've never used it.
If you have access to a Mac, GarageBand is surprisingly good. (The electro band Justice uses it)
PM me or add me on MSN if you need help with reason though, watch a tutorial video on youtube when you first start.
Will definitely keep in touch with you. Thank you sir.TheDonkey wrote:
