Playing on a craptop over the holidays, that was struggling to get 15fps average on eve with everything on minimum. So i wiped everything, and did a fresh XP install (my main PC plays eve maxed on XP with no problems), et voila i get a stable 30fps AS LONG AS i dont move the cursor. moving the cursor at all drops the fps to about 1-2 until i stop trying to move it.

Specs;

intel 915gm
pentium M 1.73ghz
1gb random DDR iirc

so on vista it was all-round shit (expected) but none of this 'you move your cursor and ill make you cry' shit.

drivers all seem to be up-to-date, and i've trawled various eve forums, no-one else seems to have this problem

halps?

(should be noted eve was playable last patch on said craptop, so it is enough to run eve)

XP strikes again. Get Windows 7, try it on that.

Did you have Aero disabled on Vista?

Aero auto-disables whenever you run a fullscreen 3d app, doesn't it?

Eve is a bit weird, it doesn't actually seem to run proper full screen, I can quite happily move my mouse off screen to my other monitor with Eve on screen, no other full screen game allows that.

Its just that its weird that he has less FPS on Vista than on XP. People say both of these Widnows are on the same level when graphics performance is in question. I suspect GFX card drivers.

I can do that with a few, when in menus. Not when in the actual game though. But EVE is just a big load of menus

So it's no XP then, it's hardware or driver related. Do a clean reinstall of your video drivers, then come back.
