Budget: $1000 US
Goal: Awesome PC

Requirements:

motherboard preferably gigabyte
hardrive 500gb
vieocard pci express2.0 512ish
quad processor
cool tower(temperature wise)
at least 500wat powersupply
video card has to have HD tv hookup

That's AMD for you. HD58x0 cards are nearly impossible to get because there's no stock

Completely agree, I got a Phenom II a couple of months after the i7 came out, but managed to get it on a deal, that coupled with a Mugen 2 leaves a hell of a lot of room for overclocking at half the price of an i7.
#edit: not that budget will be a problem here. Ignore my redundant statement. xD

Typo. Before, after, same difference... =P Bought it about May/June
God knows how I got confused. My point was that the phenom II was a hell of a lot cheaper than the i7

Just curious if anyone knows if there are any price drops regarding cpu's anytime soon? I'm looking to also build soon. I don't want to buy, and then the price drop $xx. I really want the i7 920, but don't want to spend $1,000 when my budget is around $750.
