11 year old boy attacked by cougar (Puma concolor couguar) , saved by his golden retriever named Angel.
My dog would run and hide between my wife's legs.

A golden weighs about 65 lbs and the cougar weighs between 100 and 190 lbs. GOOD DOG!

My dog is probably about the same size of as the cougar...

Its funny, he still gets other dogs starting fights on him; the other day this labradoodle crap came up to him, growled and lunged at him. Wolfy lunged back (i slipped on ice i didn't realise i was stood on and went on my arse) and smacked it in the face with his paw. Annoying labradoodle thing (not on its lead) went running away down the street, tail between its legs wimpering; i stood up to find a perfectly happy wolfy just stood there glaring at it.

Mah' dog would run around barking. I've seen one panther in FL whilst bow hunting. I was (alone) chaining my tree stand up getting ready for the next morning hunt. When I noticed him, he was about 20 yards away facing me. I had a buck knife (one used in the first scream movie) and my bow. Backed away with an arrow nocked. I doubt I would have been able to draw aim shoot if it decided to attack. Not a cool feeling. Almost extinct? My ass.
