I REALLY need more storage space on my pc - these raw camera files are killin me -
I need a 2 tb internal storage drive(or more? hahaha) so i can stop moving work back and forth on the external
For those with knowledge of the STORAGE, could i pease get a lil help on what to order so I can install the hardware myself?  Running low on space in this coolermaster and may have to take out my D drive (the 466 gb) to make room for a bigger, shinier solution ~newegg style

Well, looks like you're on IDE hard drives so OS + DVDROM + 2 storage drives is going to be your max. Unless you go external someday.
Keep in mind that XP can only see drives up to 2Tb's so don't buy anything larger.

You've got an ICH7 mobo, so you should have some SATA ports to go on there.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I didn't google the board, just looked at this: "Bus(es) : ISA PCI PCIe IMB USB FireWire/1394 i2c/SMBus"

If you have SATA ports, you can put in as many extra SATA drives as you have ports on the motherboard. You'll need to open the case and look I guess.

Three questions;

What's your budget?
Where did you get your system specs from? (I like the layout)
Why are you still on XP

Yes, you could replace it but why not just add it? You should have at least 4 SATA ports on the motherboard. Are you out of SATA ports or something?

Edit: NM, I see you're using 4 SATA ports... The short answer is yes, you could jeasily just swap out the hard drives.

I just use this:

But if you don't have eSata, this will do:

naw, you'll be fine . . .

    *  You may post 3 seconds ago

*edit - make sure to copy, not move, files - that way if something does happen, you'll have a copy.

then you can delete . . .

it's ok - you can go into disc management and change it if you want.

the difference is, if you want to put that into a different machine, it will have rights attached to all the files . . .
so it's not a good idea to have a dynamic..  if pc fails and i want to put the disc on another pc
