Need a new graphics card

Alright, my 9800GT 512mb is getting very very very old, especially with my 30" monitor.
I think i'm def going for a good 1gb card, which one should i get?
Something that doesn't cost to much, like around 100-200€.

Yeah, probably best getting that. Might want to look at GTX260 as well, about the same price.

Little brother has a 5770 and he seems to like it.

The gtx260 looks nice to, but is the 5770 better or gtx260 better?
the gtx260 seems to have 896mb DDr3 against a 5770 with DDR5 1gb...

5770 is quietter, runs cooler. The gtx260 is probably cheaper, but t he 5770 is dx11. You might get 3 or 4 more fps in game but probably not worth it

Ive got the gtx 260 and it work(ed, broke my pc) absolutely perfectly. COD4, Farcry 2, M2TW, all on full graphics max resolution on a 22" monitor, with another 17" one attached, with no lag and no problems at all.

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

I'd go with the 5770 simply based on the fact that it's newer technology. If you can't wait another few months, get that. If you can stand to wait, try to buy in April. Then the price wars should start.

I've got the 5770. Brilliant card for the price. Will run DiRT 2 - which is DX11 by the way - at 1280x1024, everything full, 8xAA at 35FPS.

Other benchies:

Crysis ultra high, 1280x1024, 0xAA, 35FPS
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, 1920x1080, max settings, quality level 3 AA, fraps full-size recording, 35FPS.
Command and Conquer 3, same as RSV2.

The GTX260 will be slightly faster, but the 5770 is brand new tech, runs a LOT cooler and quieter, and has far less energy consumption.

as long as you are running a 64 bit OS no problem; otherwise your usable RAM will drop to 2.5GB from 3.0GB by upgrading to a 1GB video card.

in that case, it will be far more expesnive to upgrade.
The only mac compatible card I have noticed on my regular site is a 285 that costs 100-150 more than the next most expensive 285.
