Im asking wether anybody would be able to help me as when i installed BF2 it took 2 1/2 hours this I know shouldnt take this long any ideas on why it is so slow.

well its
intel pentium 4 (3.00 GHz)
1022MB RAM
128MB ATI Radeon X300SE
XP Home edt
and its a dell

but when i installed the games before it only took 1/2 hour.

Some of your background tasks or processes slowed you down. Happend to me once. Explorer didn't quit properly and slowed me down rly hard. Oh yea, do you use Norton Inet Security?

i dont use norton i use McAfee

i think it is your dvd drive or cd. when you have a relly bad dvd ddrive it cannot read good and i fucked up your install times. maybe check that

I'm pretty sure it's some applications running in the background, my pc is probably a bit worse than that and my install times are 10~20 minutes only.
