Ok so my friend wants to get a HTPC but I don't know much about them so I come here and ask your help.

Needs to have 5.1 sound card. Probably not onboard since they tend to be crappy unless that changed over the years.
Right now he has RCA/S-video inputs on his current television, he will be upgrading sometime later to one with HDMI.
So it needs to have these outputs for him to work. I don't know if there is sometime like that out there? Maybe buy a cheap video card with S-Video, and buy another one when he gets his new tv?
Motherboard is Micro-ATX
Most likely no games will be played on it, mostly will be used for music and movies
Needs a video capture card? (don't know how it's called)

It has to be as cheap as reasonably possible. What I really need is mobo, cpu, gpu, sound card. I'm ok for the case, psu, and hdd.
The case will NOT need low profile cards.

Please check for parts available on newegg.ca

I'm going to bed now, so any questions you have will have to be answered tomorrow.
Thanks guys

Edit: Forgot I also need ram.

Nothing can beat a Celeron E3200 when it comes to cheap HTPCs.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

HD4350 is enough.

Good luck finding something with S-Video and HDMI though.
