As I've said, I'm talking about internal figures.
ZOMFG.... so please provide the survey apple made that compares several of their competitors... otherwise gtfo... who cares about single figures... when you can't compare them to the competitors, they don't mean jack shite
I can't do that.

I'd be breaking all sorts of NDAs.

My problem is Bertster7s inability to understand the english language even though he is from england...

This has allways been about comparing brands... apples official figure can't be used for ANYTHING (or trusted for that matter) outside the company walls...

That survey you linked is even less trustable.

I simply pointed out that the far more accurate internal figures at Apple differ from the figures in that survey, which suggests the figures overall aren't very accurate. Don't know what you're getting so worked up about.

I'm quite turned off ASUS at the moment.  Both my cousin and I got them a year and a half ago and theyre both dying quickly.  Errors left, right and centre.  If I move my laptop while its on it freezes completely.  I would never buy an ASUS laptop again, but I guess thats just my experience.

Lenovos look rock solid and preform quite well, both my dad and uncle have them and theyre working great
Some bad luck.. ASUS really turned up the game over the last year.

Apples support is in house afaik.. that is win.

It's not completely. Most is done through Apple Authorised Service Providers (AASPs)

Apple UK don't even use Apple for their repairs tbh.

Someone who also works for apple has been lying to me then

I thought superior support was how they justified their prices. Maybe they were talking about direct support (call centers).. not farming them out to india.

Might be different in the US. I don't know.

I believe the only repairs Apple do in Europe are walk-ins. If you send your computer away for repair, it isn't being repaired by Apple.

I was thinking back at the context of the discussion. He was probably talking about call centers.

That'd make sense. They try to avoid using Indian call centres for customer facing stuff.

What I was looking for was
Build quality: something that won't die when a feather lands on it
Reliability: though that varys from every laptop
Reputation: things like call centers, where does it go to get fixed and living with the product
Thanks guys
