Well I think that's another fallacy where there are 'steps' in evolution, where things get better and better which isn't the case. Intelligence didn't evolve out of necessity it randomly evolved and fortunately it was brilliant for the particular environment we're in right now. It doesn't have the goal to survive as a species.

Yes the stronger, smarter, survive. Mutations happen for a reason though (imo). Naturally this would apply to life across the broad spectrum of the universe.

I dunno I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that, I don't see evolution as having reason, process, thought or goal, I just see it as random mutations with the best surviving.
