OK things have changed slightly now from this thread http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=134120 . I need a phone for email as i am out of the office 5 days a week now, but my company is so tight it won't supply me with a phone or laptop as the say i can do my reports at home when my shifts have finished, fuck that. So i need a reasonable phone as cheap as poss.

O2 are doing the blackberry 8250 for £15 a month but no Internet usage is included http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/24_months
or alternatively there is a LG GW300 & you can buy a Sim for 50p that gives you unlimited Internet each month if you top up £15 a month http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/LG/GW … Go/viewall  £15 a month Internet http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/Pay_and_Go

opinions or alternatives please & yes i would prefer it on O2 as I know it works well where I live. I would like a good phone cheap with email & a qwerty keypad if poss.

If you want simply a phone for email, get a Blackberry that fits your price and feature range.

If you mean GPRS... yea, it can make a huge difference. It also drains your battery like crazy. Seeing as if you want a Blackberry (I would personally recommend an Android, though), then you should be sure to get one with wifi (I think there are a few models out there that dont have it, but I could be wrong) and try and get one with a 3G radio - they're nice to have whenever you can't piggy back onto a WLAN.

Blackberry is still your best bet for an email phone

Yes, it's an OS for mobile phones, but it isn't closed to a single device as the Blackberry OS or the iPhone OS are.

What I can recommend to you: Go to a store from your carrier where you can play with the phones and find yourself a Blackberry and an Android phone. The Blackberry phones are relatively the same across all the models - the only thing that might change is the hardware a bit, but the software is all relatively the same, pretty much the same story with Android phones.

See which one you prefer to use the most without having read anything about either one and then come back and let us know what you prefer, then we can help you some more from there.

Blackberry made itself on it's email functions. That was then. Today I see plenty of other smart phone out there that do it just as good if not better. I prefer the android OS because I like to manage with my gmail online and google voice.

I'm not the biggest fan of Apple but I'm really quite happy with my iphone. even better now that the in-built email does POP so you can grab your hotmail stuff

OK so went my o2 store & played with the Blackberry & a HTC with android OS on it blackberry seemed a little clunky tbh & the HTC was nice but the price of the HTC was tbh horrific.S o I went up to the 3 shop played around with the Nokia E63 with the virgin400 OS seemed nice qwerty felt good as well so got that with unlimited internet & email £18 per month, phone was free. 200 mins of cross network unlimited texts.
