I was just wondering about all the people who have around or above 1500 hours in this game, what do you do in real life?  I'm not trying to start a flame war or be rude or anything like that, I'm just curious.  I work a full time job (8 to 5) Monday through Friday, and if I'm not working, sleeping, screwing or out buying something at the store you can pretty much bet I'm on the game.   Since I have been playing almost from the time the game came out and I only have a little over 600 hours, I can help but wonder how people get so many hours.

I recently read an interview that Smokebomb productions did with Sgt Maxpower (he used to be in the top ten) and they asked him how he had so much time to play.  He told them that he worked from home as a PC repair man and that he also gave massages from home, which explains all the free time he had to play.  I also know some people who are disabled and live off of disability or welfare because they are unable to work and are able to play this game pretty much anytime of the day for any length of time they desire.

So back to the core question.  If you have over 1500 hours, what do you do for a living or perhaps a better way to put it would be "How do you find the time?"?

certainly an intersting question: i myself although only what 200 hours into it or something like that only can play bc im a student , maybe thats what some of these top players are just students?i dont no.

I am in the same boat as you Cougar.  I work a normal day job and get 1-2 hours in a day.  I just hit the 500 hour mark and it feels like I play way too much.

They can play so much is because they are losers/freaks/no lifes/ no gf's/lazy/ugly

for everyone that plays over 5 hours a day and over 1500 hours

im a student and play when im not working or cleaning up the house or soemthing, and its like 1:30 a day sometimes when i have a day with nothin to do it can get up to like 4 hours, and i bareley have like 250 hours and it seems like i play alot, now pple with 1500 dont they get tired of the game lol?just wondering

i got officer in less than 700, ive seen some others get it with less than 400
and considering people like me that work full time (40 hours/week), and granted you get weekends off, thats 2080 hours a year, the required time to get ranks is not that much
but 1500 hours for a game that hasnt been out a full year yet, is an awfull lot

well i have loads of hours in game,,,i havent played them all, i admin a server and am afk alot, also when i first got the game i let my wee brother use this account untill he got me banned from a couple of servers,,(including my own clans server) for being a smart ass, he probably put around 250 hours as spec ops on my account.

i have just graduated from uni as an architect and am currently doing freelance projects from home, around 4 or 5 hours a day,, i have a beautifull girlfriend that works for Sky for 12 hours a day 4 days a week.

i play semi pro football (soccer) 2 games a week and 2 training nights a week.

so i have a life, a G/F, a job that takes plenty money in , i also was never a gamer before, only the odd game of C & C , untill i got bf2 and then i was a dickheed,,,sry addicted.

so you really shouldnt assume all people that have lots of hours in this game have nothing else to do but sit looking at the screen all day and night,,,maybe there are people that do that but im sure they are not all of the players with alot of hours.

haha wow.. yea man I'm retired.. and at 27 I enjoy sitting home and playing games. haha. ived travled around the world, partied my ass off in foreign countries. and now i like to sit home and kill people. My lady brings me food and watchs me play.. haha life is good.


Does'nt it suck when you think were all just losers and come to find out some of us acutally have are shit together and your the one with the shitty life.

My love life is much more important than a video game, and I'm just now realizing it.    When I played everquest, I would rack up 40-45 hours a week, and at that time, I had a girl I was seeing, and I would always either flake on her, or push plans back a bit so I could get the credit for raiding.  Now, I work 40 hours a week, gym 5-6 days a week.  I'm finally motivated to get back into school and finish, thanks to my girlfriend.  She works 3 - 12 hour shifts a week, so on those nights she works, I will play for a few hours.  But if I have the chance to see her.... g/f > BF2. 

That's my situation and i'm stickin to it!

I'm still interested in hearing what some of these 1500, 2000, 2500+ hour players do in life...  not to flame, but just to be the curious cat as well.

Sure son theres alot to do out there. and im sure you havent really had the chance to do much since your still young. But to say that everyone else is a loser is just a generalization. Do you really care about what other people do with there spare time? When your  my age and have no worries, no job (because i dont need one), dont like to travel anymore, whats wrong with sitting home relaxing and playing games. I dont have to be any where.  basicly i can do what i want to do 24/7 who cares how i spend my time.. I find it funny as shit that im even talking to a 16 year old kid about what i do in life haha. Life is good. You have a long hard life ahead of you pal. dont worry about what other people do, stay in school, stay off drugs, there thats my pep talk hahaha.

i play for five hours a day, its easy to play from 6 till 12pm at night. weekends ill play longer. I enjoy it, not to good at meeting new people, so i find it easier to make friends with local gamers,, makes it easy to meet up at the local pub.
playing with the internode games network is great, after awhile you get to know the regs and make friendships, its like a little family, and has produced many fond memories.
