Right, I've had it with my PC. Keeps fucking up, always issues, generally just annoying. I actually hate PCs, and especially internets, but that's beside the point.

I really don't play games any more. Maybe the occasional Football Manager or Counter Strike, but never anything graphically demanding.

I use my PC for;
  • Music
  • Movies
  • Web
  • Extremely light gaming
right, so that means my PC is rather pointless, and with the issues it has I'd rather throw it (and myself) out the window. As for a soundcard, I thought I might as well get a USB one.. I'd assume going high-end on a laptop is both expensive and often unavailable? Some features that'd be nice:
  • Play 1080p on a full size TV screen
  • Light weight
  • Battery life
  • ~15"

NOW, I have a shitty laptop atm, and I CAN wait 'til August before doing a purchase. My question is; will it be worth the wait? Is there anything exciting I should wait for? How much should I expect the prices to drop for the Laptop I'd need in that time?

nice idea but the 9.1" touch screen might be bothersome for any gaming activity, plus it's an apple so you will have to watch what's supported

edit: I was told to look at lenovo, few guys on the forum are more than happy with theirs

loads of i3/5/7 laptops should be arriving soon. I'd wait for them.

Thanks to GPU acceleration all laptops with dedicated GPUs will easily play 1080p video. Even my dads atom can handle 1080p thanks to ion.

I really like the Lenovo ThinkPad T and R series. If you want quality they're second to none.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Is it a dual core max? I will probably be getting one as well.

The atom? Just your standard single core N270

I must have had mine on power saving mode as it didn't play 720p smoothly on Win7

ION is the keyword here. Without GPU acceleration playing HD is a pain
