I'm currently working on an essay and have managed to unwittingly alter the tab settings for the browser. Instead of showing the little image (a thumbnail, I think they're called?) to help identify one of the 20 or so pages I have open, all appear only as a metallic/slate colored box.

All I want to do is have the browser go back to normal-- with little pictures in the tabs.

I absolutely cannot close the browser, else I'll lose connection to the academic journal hosting sites I am using and lose much of my work.

Many karmas for help.

Did you try to right click on a tab, select "Customize", then click "Enable Thumbnails in Tabs"? You may have to drag down the tab bar for the thumbnails to show.

Helped, get me on track, thanks!

I was actually that I DID have thumbnails open that was causing my problem. I had to double click the tab bar to have them go away- something I realized when I tried to use you solution.
