HP did announce one first.Uzique wrote:
watch the keynote you stupid fuck
it clearly has a design-function
the question is whether you as a consumer have a personal use or applicability for it
honestly i get so tired with apple fanboys and anti-apple bandwagon hoppers
people seem to lose all rationality, initiative and general intelligence when it comes to cock-wagging matches over apple
USE YOUR FUCKING BRAINS
if HP or Sony or someone announced a similar gadget first... people would 'get' it. ah yeah, a larger tablet for video-watching and touch-screen browsing. they'd ask what they would use it for within their own home, lifestyle and career. instead because apple launch it and it's part of a 'boom' brand, people are all like WHAT THE FUCK COULD I POSSIBLY EVEN DO WITH A TOUCH-SCREEN TABLET? WIPE MY ASS? fuck me...

meh....i guess.Kmarion wrote:

i dont mean tablet-technology as a whole, i mean if HP had been the company behind this highly-anticipated launch, and had produced the exact same gadget. people wouldn't question the purpose and design brief of it; they'd only have consumer questions. because it's apple though, the two polemic sides are either calling it the next lifestyle must-have or a redundant piece of technology with as much use as a 2000 year old piece of granite. fucking re-tar-ded.

It wasn't as ground-breaking as they were hyping it all up to be, in lots of peoples opinions. Including mine.

I guess because for whatever reason, people find Apple products more interesting. When was the last time you saw a thread about the exciting things Dell are releasing?Uzique wrote:

the excitement about apple is like that family guy skit about kids and commercials. you know the one with the grape stuff? hazboros best thing ever or whatever. i dunno. those who have seen that will know what i mean.
Uzique, can you please clarify the difference between design questions and consumer questions? Are the two not indelibly linked?
I think you're right in stating that Apple's products garner much more attention- both good and bad- which is all you are seeing here. When HP releases a piece of shit touch-screen with no real consumer appeal it just fails and the world moves on, but when Apple does it somehow (amazing marketing) 1/2 the planet is convinced that this is the direction technology should take.
Attacking the utility and design of it their products is exactly what we should be doing.

Pochsy, that is because apple really doesn't chase the competition. Think about it.

The fact that it didn't tank as bad as some other tech stocks says something.
